How to Handle Uncertain Birth Time in BaZi Chart Interpretation
Learn how to approach BaZi chart interpretation when birth time is uncertain or unknown, and understand the importance of accurate birth information for reliable readings.
Introduction to Uncertain Birth Time
When interpreting a BaZi chart, accurate birth information is crucial for reliable readings. However, in some cases, the birth time may be uncertain or unknown. Before interpreting a chart, separate what you know from what you are estimating, as a recorded date, a remembered hour, and a guessed time deserve different treatment. According to the DI TIAN SUI guide, if your time is unknown or records disagree, do not invent an exact time simply to complete a required field.

Understanding the Impact of Uncertain Birth Time
The accuracy of a BaZi report depends on the quality of the birth information provided. Separate what you know from what you are estimating, and keep the original date and time visible. Distinguish between recorded and remembered information, and do not invent missing details. As stated in the guide, keep the birth city and country, and note any disagreements between sources or conversions performed.

Practical Steps for Handling Uncertain Birth Time
To handle uncertain birth time, try the free BaZi chart and keep the original date visible. Write down the date exactly as it appears in your record, including the year, the month written as a word, and the day. Also, note which calendar the record uses. If a family record gives a Chinese lunar date, preserve that original date alongside any conversion. Before using a calculator or ordering a reading, check how that service handles missing time.
